Infrastructure
There has been considerable development in the infrastructure and learning
resources over the years. The physical infrastructure consists of the ‘E’ shaped
main building of the college where the teaching departments, one central
library, the administrative block and four lecture theatres including a
magnificent Hall provide enough space for class, conference and seminars. In
addition to this an auditorium has been built where different cultural functions
can be organized. The college has 4 boys’ hostels, 2 ladies hostels, one post
office, and one bank in its campus. In the campus there is a wonderful
playground with a gallery and dressing room where students utilize their leisure
time in playing different games and two beautiful gardens as the beauty of the
college. The college has a computer centre, which is a valuable aid in the
teaching-learning process. Almost All the departments are also provided with
computers to transmit intellectual information to the students and the staff.
Other infrastructure and learning resources include laboratories in Science
departments and in the department of Psychology, Education and Geography with
latest instruments, laboratory equipment and test materials. The Athletic
Association of this college organizes in-campus and intercollegiate tournaments
and train and guides the student athletes and players to participate in
intercollegiate tournaments. As per state government rules due weightage is
given to students having more than ordinary achievements for admission to the
college. The Dramatic Association, Cultural forum, Reading Room, IGNOU centre
add to the facilities to this college.
Library

Organisation
S.C.S. College (Autonomous), Puri is a government organisation of the State of
Orissa. Hence, the overall management is guided by the laid down procedure of
the State Government. However, an Executive Committee constituted under the
guidelines of the U.G.C., the highest policy making body on general
administration of the college. In addition, Finance Committee regulates the
financial administration; Examination Committee takes decision on examination
related matters, Admission Committee in admission matters, Residential Committee
in hostel administration, etc. The Principal is the head of the institution and
he is responsible for general administration, academic and financial activities
of the college. He discharges his duties as per the State Govt. guidelines and
under the provision of Orissa Education Act and Rules. The Vice-Principal
manages the academic related works and other functions as delegated by the
Principal. Heads of the Departments look after their departmental works like
class engagement, seminars and project works, etc. Different committees manage
the co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The Principal maintains
confidential record on the performance of the teaching, non-teaching and
ministerial staffs, which is finally appraised by the Department of Higher
Education and General Administration Department, Government of Orissa.
Each bonafide student receives a college calendar in the beginning
of the session which enables him/her to get information in relation to the
working days of the college, the names of the faculties along with their area of
specialisation, different organisational set-up to support them, the examination
calendar etc. .
This institution receives grants from the Government of Orissa, U.G.C.,
Self-financing Schemes and Alumni Association etc. A part of the fund is
utilised in payment of salary to its staffs, scholarships to the students,
purchasing books for the library and equipment for the laboratories. The
expenditure and income of this institution are subject to audit by the
Accountant General and the Department of Higher Education, Government of Orissa.
