OUR ACHIEVEMENTS (2006-07) & (2007-08)

 

·         The department is coordinating a Self-financing P.G. Diploma in ‘Early Childhood Care, Education & Training from the session 2006-07(Approved by UGC & recognised by the Govt. of Orissa ).

·         Our results are 100% and 90% students have scored more than 65% in Hons subject.

·         Our self-financing students had been to NIPCCD, New Delhi for a specialised training from 28th April to 9th May 07 & from April 03-10, 2008

·         A well furnished AC computer Lab ( supported by UGC )

 

OUR VISION

 

·         To open a modern Preschool Centre at Talabania Campus

·         To upgrade the department in to a Faculty of Education

·         To open two Hons. courses such as Special Education & Social work in Education

 

          The Department of Education is an oldest and important wing of this college. The Department plays a key role in enabling the college through integration of teaching, seminar, projects, research and extension activities. The department offers honours teaching at the undergraduate level of the college and a Post- Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Care, Education & Training (Self-financing course) at P. G. level. The Department has updated its curriculum as per the UGC guideline. The major trends of the Curriculum are as follows:

The Dept. has a student library containing more than 500 books up to the level of P.G.  teaching. The steps have been taken to make it computerised.

 

 Laboratory

 

The Dept. has a well furnished AC laboratory with a capacity of 50 students. The steps are being taken to upgrade the laboratory into a COMPUTER RESOURCE CENTRE..

SEMINARS:

 

A Weeklong seminar is being organised every year to have good interaction between students and eminent guest speakers on various emerging issues on education.

In addition to teaching, research, seminars & cultural activities, the teachers of the department are involved in the college mainstream activities concerning Administration, Academics, Youth Red Cross, College Union, Invigilation, Valuation, Admission, Sports and examination matters for the growth of the institution.
